By Ha Man-joo, India correspondent, AsiaToday - "We aim to sell 4.65 lakh units in the India market this year, up 17 percent from sales of 4.1 lakh unit in 2014," Hyundai Motor India Ltd Managing Director and CEO, Seo Bo-shin, said.

In an interview with AsiaToday at a hotel in Delhi, India, he said, "Despite tough conditions last year, we sold 410,000 vehicles, up 8 percent from the previous year."

Car sales tend to be highly dependent on the economic growth. Hyundai Motor India's goal is more than double the India's economic growth of 7.5 percent projected by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It seems the positive response from Indian market for Hyundai Motor's vehicles such as newly released compact SUV Creta and Elite i20, which won Indian Car of the Year 2015 award, gave him confidence.

He continued, "Indian customers consider Hyundai cars produced in Chennai as high tech cars of a good quality and specification with a lot of new technologies. Our premium brand image strategy is winning the hearts of customers."

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor India CEO Seo Bo-shin attended an official launch event for compact SUV Creta held at a hotel in Delhi, India, on July 21.
