Hong criticizes court decision, says Lee survived due to judges‘ ruling

Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo stated on Wednesday that he predicts the Constitutional Court will reject the impeachment trial against President Yoon Suk-yeol.


In a Facebook post, Mayor Hong remarked, "While many expected both Representative Lee Jae-myung and President Yoon to step down in response to public demands for an end to their antagonistic coexistence, the Seoul High Court's questionable acquittal of Representative Lee has temporarily revived him. As a result, it seems inevitable that President Yoon will also survive the Constitutional Court's ruling."


"The key issue now is how to navigate the aftermath of the impeachment rejection to ensure national stability. I look forward to President Yoon demonstrating groundbreaking statecraft in this regard." he added.
