On April 4, the Constitutional Court is set to deliver its verdict on President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment case. If at least six of the eight justices vote in favor, President Yoon will become the second president in the nation's history to be removed from office. Conversely, if at least three justices oppose, he will immediately resume his presidential duties.
The court plans to hold its final deliberation around 9 a.m., with the verdict announcement scheduled for 11 a.m. President Yoon is expected to watch the live broadcast of the decision from his residence in Hannam-dong.
The justices have been meticulously reviewing the facts and legal principles, refining the wording of the decision document, which is anticipated to be approximately 100 pages long. The announcement is projected to take between 30 to 40 minutes. The verdict will take effect immediately upon being read by Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae.
Representatives from both the National Assembly and President Yoon's legal team are expected to be present in the courtroom for the announcement. Due to security concerns, President Yoon will not attend in person.
