Former President Yoon Seok-yeol is adopting a proactive approach in the aftermath of his impeachment, contrasting with former President Park Geun-hye's post-impeachment silence. Despite expectations that Yoon would focus solely on legal proceedings, he is actively engaging with the public and his supporters.

Yoon's influence remains significant; according to Google Trends, searches for "Yoon Seok-yeol" peaked at 100 on April 4, the day his impeachment was upheld, and remained above 30 in the following days, indicating sustained public interest.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 14 for the first hearing on charges related to alleged insurrection. Observers anticipate that Yoon may use this opportunity to deliver a message aimed at consolidating his support base. His communication style has traditionally been direct and confrontational, suggesting he might address the public upon his court appearance.

Political analysts believe Yoon's statements could galvanize his conservative supporters. On April 6, through his legal team, he assured his followers, "I will always stand by you," signaling his intent to remain politically active. However, some suggest that Yoon should adopt a more measured approach, acknowledging the current situation to preserve his reputation for upholding the rule of law and principles.

A ruling party official commented, "For Yoon to maintain his honor as a man of law and principle, he should openly accept the current situation and face judgment with dignity." The official added that statements aimed at uniting the party and appealing to the broader public would be more beneficial than inciting public sentiment.
