Actor Kim Soo-hyun has filed a legal complaint against individuals responsible for spreading malicious comments and false information about him online, his agency announced on April 15.

In a statement, Gold Medalist said, “Malicious posts, defamatory comments, and false rumors about Kim Soo-hyun are being recklessly circulated online. On April 14, we filed a complaint with investigative authorities for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and for insult under the Criminal Act.”

The agency added that additional legal action is planned against further defamatory content. “We will continue to take strong legal measures to protect our artist’s rights and reputation against these clearly criminal acts,” it said.

Last month, Kim held a press conference on March 31 to deny allegations that he dated the late actress Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor. “It’s true that we dated, but not while she was underage,” he clarified. He has since filed lawsuits against the YouTube channel Garosero Institute, which first raised the claims, and against members of Kim Sae-ron’s family.
